Keeping our children healthy is one of the main jobs as a parent and one of our chief concerns as well. It is always hard to know if your child is getting enough of the right foods, activity, and liquids that he or she needs everyday to fuel their active and busy lives. For those of you who are not aware of the sad, scary situation that has been unfolding in China over the last few months allow me to bring you up to speed. At least 54.000 infants in that country have been sickened with kidney stone symptoms, pain in the abdomen and back, blood in the urine, and nausea or vomiting. The reason that so many children are being affected with the same symptoms has been linked to a chemical called Melamine.
The Steps to Teaching Your Infant to “Cry It Out”
“Crying it out” is not an easy thing for any parent to do with their kids at bedtime. Everyone is tired, your nerves are on edge and you want to comfort your crying child; however, allowing them to develop some self soothing skills can benefit them with much healthier sleep habits for life. I myself used the “cry it out” method with all of my three children. My oldest son broke my heart while the other two were much easier.
How to Establish a Better Baby Sleep Schedule
My little brother and his wife just had their first baby in July… she is a beautiful little girl. Ever since her birth her little internal clock has had the same problem as many other infants… it was backwards. Sleeping most of the day and crying, eating, and wanting attention all of the night. This problem is very common in babies and incredibly hard on stressed out and sleep deprived parents. So how do you fix it?
