3 Creative Personalized Kids Birthday Gift Ideas
Have your kids ever been invited to a birthday party and you had NO idea what to get as a gift for the birthday child?
My son was invited to a birthday party recently where the birthday boy is very creative. He and my son love to create things together, so when it came time to look for a great gift for him… I had a hard time.
After a lot of thinking, I came up with the great idea to make a craft box for him. We wanted to make something that he could use to make creative projects like he loves to do.
I enlisted my son’s help and we went to the store and picked out all kinds of items that a creative child loves. Here are some of the things we included and some others that would work well:
♦ Pipe Cleaners
♦ Glue Sticks
♦ Googly Eyes
♦ Pom Poms of different sizes
♦ Stickers
♦ Fun Paper
♦ Stamps and Stamp pads
♦ Scissors with different kinds of cutting blades
♦ Ribbon
♦ Fabric
♦ Different Paper Punches
♦ Play dough or Clay
♦ Paint and Paintbrushes
♦ Beads
Take items from this list and place them in a container. We used a plastic tote with a lid, but you could use other creative containers like a cleaned out paint can with lid, basket, cloth bag or backpack, or wooden box.
I have done a couple of other personalized birthday gifts in the past that were also big hits:
♦ Personalized Tote Bags: I took blank canvas tote bags and painted the kids names and a picture of something that they really like on the front. If you are not good at art… you can use iron on transfers to personalize the bags.
♦ Mix CDs: We have downloaded fun kids songs and burned them onto CDs for the birthday kid. We made a special label and cover for the CD that had their name and birthday on it.
These were a few ideas that we have tried, and it is a great gift giving idea that I plan to keep in mind in the future… creating personalized gifts. These special gifts will ensure that your present will be well received and well liked.
So the next time that you are trying to find a great gift for a kids birthday party… consider being creative instead of just grabbing a toy off the shelf. Enlist the help of your kids to create something that their friends will enjoy and appreciate.

Buy a tshirt and some fabric paint.
Write on the t-shirt “My grandkids walk all over me — 2010″
then paint your children’s feet and put footprints on the tshirt. Let dry.
We did this for my dad for father’s day and he loves it and gets compliments on it too!!!!!!!!!!
You can do this same thing with for their aunt but do handprints so it isn’t the same. A saying could be, “We love our aunt!” or “Auntie, Auntie….. (like they are pulling on her for something)”
Have fun!
