Are you looking for a great educational gift for a child in the 2-5 year old age range? Look no further than the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set. My children love this toy so much that we went out and purchased an extra one so that two of them would be able to use it at once.

This toy consists of a large magnet that has a spot for one of the 26 letter magnets to fit inside it.  Children can then press the letter and the toys electronics are able to tell exactly what letter is in the center and it plays a little jingle about each letter. The jingle tells children both the name of the letter and the sound that it makes. There is also a small musical note button that they can push that will sing them their entire alphabet so that children can practice it as well.

This educational toy is great to teach letter recognition, phonetic sounds, and memorization skills to your children. The songs really stick with your children, my six year old still uses them at school, occasionally singing them to himself when doing work.

This toy leapt out onto the market in 2003 and began collecting all kinds of awards such as the 2003 Gold Seal Award by the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, the 2003 Parenting Toys of the Year Award, and the 2003 Toy Wishes All Star Award in the Preschool Category. I can understand why, this award winning toy has definitely been a big winner with my three children.

If you are looking for the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set you should be able to find it at most national retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, and Toys R Us, as well as small local toy stores who carry Leapfrog products. You can purchase it online directly from LeapFrog, Amazon or any other site that carries it. expect to spend about $20.00 on this great toy. Keep in mind though you will also need 3 AAA batteries to run this toy.

Another great thing that I have learned about this toy is that it is not just for the refrigerator. We have taken it with us on long road trips to entertain the kids, I put the magnets all on a cookie sheet so that they do not loose them but they can move them around. You can also store the toy in a box and let your kids play with it on floor in the living room or their bedroom… it has some versatility with it.

I would definitely suggest this educational toy to any parent, grandparent, or other gift giver who is searching for a great gift for their children. You will enjoy watching your child develop his or her pre-reading skills and have fun at the same time. Thanks LeapFrog for this great product!
